# Accounts

> DangoAPI syncs with DangoID to verify your access to API endpoints. You can add `data` to your `ID` on API key creation. Examples of `data` can be keys or information we need to connect to external APIs. Instead of calling the URL with your `data` every time, an account stores it for you, keeping everything hidden. As of DangoAPI v6, accounts are **required**, and are generated when you order an API key. To get access to certain APIs that require API keys, you will need to add the key to your DangoAPI account.

## How to add a key

When you order a DangoAPI key from the Portal, it will ask for API keys on the checkout page. *All fields are optional.* Once your order is completed, you can go ahead and start using DangoAPI with your API key.
