What are Domains?

Whenever you browse Google, you’re on google.com. Google.com is Google’s domain - a unique web address that anyone can go to to gain access to a public website.

What are TLDs?

The .com at the end of a domain is known as the TLD, the Top-Level Domain. .com is just one of them. There are tons to choose from - .com (most popular), .org, .xyz, .info, and more. Other TLDs are reserved for education institutions or governments, like .edu and .gov. There are some TLDs for countries, like .us (United States), .ca (Canada), and there are some like .io, which stands for Indian Ocean.
