What are Domains?

As you browse this documentation website, you are on a domain. Domains are the unique web addresses that allow you to access websites on the internet. They are like the street addresses of the internet, directing you to specific locations where websites are hosted. If you look at the address bar, you’ll notice dangoweb.com, our domain. Anyone can go to this address to gain access to our public website.

What are TLDs?

The .com at the end of a domain is known as the TLD, the Top-Level Domain. There are many to choose from such as .com (most popular), .org, .xyz, and .info. TLDs such as .edu and .gov are reserved for education institutions or governments. Other TLDs for countries, such as .us (United States) and .ca (Canada), may require residency in that country to acquire.
